ASSOC. PROF. ANA GRGIC TO PRESENT HER LATEST VOLUME DURING PORDENONE SILENT FILM FESTIVAL

Ana Grgic, Associate Professor with the Department of Cinema and Media, is going to present her most recent volume during the 2022 edition of the Pordenone Silent Film Festival. The presentation will take place on Thursday, October 6 at 4 pm, and will be livestreamed on the festival’s YouTube channel.

Published this year by Amsterdam University Press, Early Cinema, Modernity and Visual Culture: The Imaginary of the Balkans, is ”the first study on early cinema in the region from a transnational and cross-cultural perspective,” investigating “how the unique geopolitical positioning of the Balkan space and its multiculturality influenced and shaped visual culture and cinema.”

Pordenone Silent Film Festival, Le Giornate del Cinema Muto, is among the world’s most relevant silent film festivals, having been organised yearly since 1982. You can check out the schedule of this year’s online events here.
